VISION

To be the premier travel soccer club in the Nation’s Capital, by achieving prominence, markedly out of proportion to our size, at the local, regional, and national levels.

MISSION

To bring professional coaching to all committed players; to develop their technical capability, their understanding, their love of the game, and their sportsmanship. To utilize our professional expertise to identify and support each individual player’s unique talents and future. To expand the game from our base into under-served communities, opening the personal growth opportunities to all interested players in the Nation’s Capital.

STRATEGY

To grow the Club into a comprehensive instructional organization, to include recreational organization, pre-travel instruction, travel, in order to support ultra-competitive national-level players in the Nation’s Capital.

  • to be a comprehensive youth soccer organization that provides training and competitive play at both the recreational and travel levels,

  • to partner with public and private entities that will help the Club place its programming in high- visibility community areas,

  • to partner with public and private entities that will help the Club expand its programming into under-served and high-needs communities, in order to extract and nurture that talent,

  • to seek and welcome both recreational and travel players who demonstrate desire, and capability,

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

To guide our growth, and ensure its execution in conformance with our Vision and Mission, we adhere to the following:

  • to assemble and retain a cadre of experienced coaches with exceptional and demonstrable technical and interpersonal skills,

  • to develop each player to his or her maximum technical, tactical, and mental capacity,

  • to place each player with a team that will foster his or her development,

  • to hold the well-being of each player as our top priority,

  • to place equal emphasis on the mental, and sportsmanship, aspect of development,

  • to give equal time, attention, and effort to the both the girls and the boys programs,

  • to place each team in a league whose competitive levels are commensurate with, or slightly above, the team’s current developmental level,

  • to not let cost be a barrier to the participation of excellent players at the travel level,

  • to provide all-year training of various types and focuses,

PHILOSOPHY

To place the player first, through a progressive programme of:

  • pre-travel technical instruction,

  • to intense technical developmental instruction,

  • to organization and introduction into competitive tactical instruction and play,

  • to premier regional and national competition,

  • to post-graduate support, coaching opportunity, and other pathways in the game

Our Philosophy of how we instruct, what we emphasize, and when, is more fully described in the accompanying breakdown of age-level organization within the US Youth Soccer organization

CURRICULUM

We generally follow, and adapt, the US Youth Soccer and US Soccer Federation curricula to support our strategy to develop, train, identify, and support our players to be their personal and unique best. We allow our coaches to individually assess, through conference with our Director(s) of Coaching, Age Group Coordinators, and the Technical Director, each player and team, so as to adapt how best to implement the curriculum. Each phase is designed to support our pairing of the developmental age groups to the childhood developmental schedule. Links to the USYS national curriculum can be found here:
