Under Coach Ashley’s leadership, the WCU 11G Red team will continue the great work and player development Coach Geoff established. The addition of Coach Ashley aligns with our Club’s mission to bring professional coaching to all committed players and develop their technical capability, understanding, love of the game, and sportsmanship. To utilize our professional expertise to identify and support each player's unique talents and future. We are confident our players will do just that under Coach Ashley’s leadership.

High School Accomplishments: four-year varsity letter winner; two-year captain junior and senior year; 2015/2016 DC State Champions; 2016 WCAC Runner-Ups; 2016 All-Conference Honorable Mention; and 2013/2014/2015 Second Team All-Conference.

Coach Ashley began playing recreational soccer with an all-boys team in the Takoma Park neighborhood in Washington, DC. At age 10, Ashley transitioned from playing in an all-boys team to an all-girls team. While with Pachuca Soccer Club, her team was 1st place in the top Division at WAGS. At age 13, Ashley transferred to McLean and played ECNL for about three years. During her last year with McLean, Ashley played up with U16. Coach Ashley's club soccer journey ended with Bethesda ECNL. While with Bethesda, her team won major soccer tournaments such as the Disney Cup, Bethesda Tournament, Discovery Cup, and more. While playing ECNL, she attended major ECNL showcases around the US, including but not limited to California, Settle, Ohio, Texas, and Washington.

From 15 to 18, Ashley played for the Virginia Olympic Development Program (ODP). While with ODP, Ashley was selected for the VA State pool, made the VA state team, attended Region I camp, and made the Regional pool all four years. At ODP, she was among 25 girls selected to attend the ODP National Camp in Phoenix, Arizona. Coach Ashley was recruited to play Division I soccer at Delaware State University.

While at Delaware State University, Ashley Ventura was a four-year starter. In her 2020/2021 season, she had the most assists on the team. Ashley is passionate and committed to player development and growth. Coach Ashley Ventura is excited to work with the WCU 11G Red team!


Please Join WC United in Welcoming Volunteer Coach Summer Garrison!

Coach Summer is a fantastic addition to the Development Academy technical team. With Coach Summer and Coach Saede, we will continue the great work and player development Coach Ossie established with our youngest players. The addition of Coach Summer aligns with our Club’s mission to bring professional coaching to all committed players and develop their technical capability, understanding, love of the game, and sportsmanship. To utilize our professional expertise to identify and support each player's unique talents and future.  

Coach Summer is from Pasadena, CA. Before heading to college, she played club soccer for a nationally ranked-team at the U-18 level. This experience led her to commit to playing soccer for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the Big Ten Conference. During her time there, Summer achieved several academic and athletic milestones. She was honored as a three-time Academic All-Big Ten recipient, a Scholar-Athlete of the Week recipient in November 2020, and selected as the Laura Redmond Ramirez Scholarship Designee in 2021. In 2022, Summer was proud to receive the Teammate of the Year award from her teammates and coaches. Summer played 56 games, started in 32, and accumulated over 2000 career minutes while showcasing her versatility in five different positions, including outside defense and outside forward. Summer enjoyed coaching recreational soccer for 5 to 13-year-olds, helping prepare them for high school soccer, and offering mentorship. Coach Summer Garrison is excited to work with the WCU Development Academy!


Please Join WC United in Welcoming Assistant Coach Lily Adelstein!

Assistant Coach Lily will join Coach Amanda and the WCU 15G Blue team. Lily is a fantastic addition and will be an extension of the great work and player development that Coach Amanda established. The addition of Coach Lily is in line with our Club’s mission to bring professional coaching to all committed players and develop their technical capability, understanding, love of the game, and sportsmanship. To utilize our professional expertise to identify and support each player's unique talents and future. We are confident our players will do just that under Coach Amanda’s leadership and with Coach Lily’s support.

Here is a quick bio about Coach Lily's soccer experience and accomplishments:

Lily Adelstein is a DC native. She attended Capitol Hill Day School and the Field School. She studied political science, philosophy, and economics at the University of Michigan. After graduating from college, Lily lived and taught middle school English in Rwanda. She has since worked in Congress and for technology startups.

Lily started playing soccer early and later played varsity in high school. She continued her passion for soccer by playing recreationally throughout college and has continued since moving back to DC. Coach Lily loves working with children and sees soccer as a way to bring people together, promote an active lifestyle, and build confidence on and off the field. Coach Lily Adelstein is excited to work with the WCU 07G Blue team!
